Vorige week maandag zat ik welig te tieren in de tuin van mijn goede vriendin Embla Ploeterbloot. Embla was met vakantie naar het Groene Rif en ik had aangeboden haar spinazie te wateren. Het is prettig toeven in de kas van Embla. 220 vierkante meter spinazie en een paar bekerplanten. Totale stilte. Dat is even leuk, maar na een kwartiertje besloot ik toch maar een cd’tje op te zetten. Wat zou spinazie nu prettige muziek vinden? Ik bladerde wat door de map met illegaal gebrande spiegelplaatjes van Embla. Veel meuk. Belinda Carlisle, Volumia, Bon Jovi en Kane. Stuk voor stuk bewijzen van een getormenteerde, behoeftige jeugd.
